One week ago Thursday, Troy and I met our son. Labor was nothing like I imagined it would be. I went in open-minded, yet with the hopes of a totally natural labor. I was induced at 5:30 a.m. and by 7:30 was feeling strong contractions. They broke my water around 1:30 at which time the hard labor started. At 5:30, I had only dilated to 5 centimeters and realizing I was only half way there and totally exhausted, I opted for an epidural. I was 9 centimeters around 9:30, and started pushing around 9:50. Zeke was born 17 minutes later. :) Whew! What an exhausting 17 minutes. The epidural only took fully on one side of my body, so I technically felt the entire labor process. I'm still waiting on the "once he's here you forget all about it" process. :)
He is here, and he is perfect. Troy and I can't take our eyes off of his precious face. He looks just like his daddy! The doctors have given the both of us the okay to travel, so on Monday Zeke, Troy, Rebecca and I are making the two day commute back to Vegas. We should be home by Wednesday and can't wait to start our lives together. We'll be driving Rebecca back to SLC on Friday, and would love to see all of our friends while there.
Life is perfect! :) I can't wait to experience every new day with this little person and my wonderful husband!
