My American Idol!

Troy will be singing the National Anthem at a Change of Command ceremony in Iraq tomorrow afternoon! I am so proud of him! He tried out and they loved him the most! (Of course) It's a very important event where he'll be singing in front of hundreds of people.

He has an amazing voice - I'm so lucky to have married a man who serenades me and writes beautiful songs for me and our baby. He's the best! And so very talented!!

Aunt Tammy and Topher's Birthday!

Happy Birthday, Aunt Tammy and Topher! We had a birthday party for my aunt and cousin this past Sunday. We all had such a good time. I am grateful to be home for little family get togethers like this. By the way, Topher's band, The Colonels, were voted Best Country Artist in Mississippi last week. They even beat out Faith Hill!!

This is Chloe and her friend, Kara, who is like an addition to our family. They are fun girls!!

Aunt Tammy's husband, Kevin, is camera happy! This is my "okay, I'm looking at the camera" face...

These next three are some fun ones that I found on the kid's computer. I think it was from when Troy and I stopped by here to say goodbye on our way to move to Las Vegas.

I love this one of Troy! It took a couple weeks to move, so he was able to let his scruffiness grow out. I LOVE his scruffy face! He is so HOT!

Troy and a guitar. Soul mates. :)

This was nearly a year ago. This little cutie is Hunter - he was in my nursery class in Alabama before I moved from there. He is such a wonderful little boy!! He made sure the entire class knew that he was my boyfriend and had dibs on my attention. :)

Kim Is Mean Now...

Or at least that is the general concensus. I moved home to Mississippi from Vegas. In Vegas I was living with my husband and two cats. Our days were filled with work outside of home, and our evenings were sweet and leisurely and lovey. So, I've moved into a house with seven other people who are very loud and NOT leisurely.

Mix that with trying to cope with my husband being gone, trying to find some semblance of comfort living away from my home, and RAGING pregnancy hormones, and I suppose I have been very impatient and mean.

I went to visit my mom tonight, and she said that someone said (wouldn't tell me who) that all I have to do is point and someone does whatever I ask because I am so mean. I'm sure that is an extreme exaggeration, or at least I hope it is.

Therefore, I have decided tonight to make a strong effort to watch my level of patience. I need to start filling my days with more productive activity and not just moping around in PJ's counting the days until Troy is back. It was pointed out to me today that I have not left the house in over a week. So, that is my goal. I want my husband home, but he will be home at the same time regardless of whether I am sad the next five months, or make the best of it.

"God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things that I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."

I cannot change the fact that I am experiencing pregnancy and six months of my life without Troy, so I will accept it and move forward. And enjoy my beautiful family and the support system that they are in the process.

I Like the Way You Move!

I've started feeling the baby flutter around! It's the most amazing, fun, special feeling! I can't even describe!

It's so cool to have a personal physical manifestation of the little person growing inside of me. I hadn't felt any flutters since early this morning, and just a moment ago I sneezed. Either the baby loved the jolt or hated it, but either way, he started fluttering like crazy.

By the way, we refer to the baby as a he. We do not yet know that we are having a son, but Troy has asked me to not refer to him as it or her because he doesn't want to jinx it. :)

Fun Picture!

This is from Troy's Aunt Mo! She and Uncle Neil and Nani came to visit us in Vegas last fall and we went to the Hard Rock Casino. It was such a fun time, and I love this picture! I miss him!

Happy 21st Stevie!!

Yesterday was Stevie's 21st Birthday! We had a small family party for her at Mammaw's house and had VIRGIN margaritas and daquaris. The kids really enjoyed getting the yummy frozen drinks in fancy glasses! :) It was a fun day!
Stevie after I totally anihalated her face!!!

Daddy was faking a smile. He really wasn't too happy about this situation.

Whoah...a knife!

Stevie ordered her own cake. She said the she also asked the to put "You Are the Greatest" but it wouldn't fit. Neither would her EGO.

Strawberry Margarita - the Tequila was replaced with Sprite.

Chloe and Effie enjoying their fancy drinks.

Jacob was mad at Stevie and was not wanting to be photogenic. At any rate, the virgin drinks were fun!!

News from My Airman

Troy and I have figured out that he is online at work around midnight my time. This is the second night in a row that we have been able to "chat" via sending emails back and forth.

Tonight his email subject was: "If you're still up...I love you." It completely made my night! I miss him so very much. I'm trying very hard to be strong and stalwart in being patient in the knowledge that he is doing something good - he is serving his country. He does it with such selflessness and still has this amazing ability to see the good in all things. His never ending positivity is apparent in this line of his last email:

"There’s a place I can go here that has a lake with reeds of sorts and seagulls by the hundreds. And when you look out on the horizon, it almost feels like you’re at the beach in Destin. And definitely doesn’t feel like Iraq...I love you sweetie. Keep your head up."

Head is up today. Thanks to my sweetheart and his amazing example!
