Jacob was mad at Stevie and was not wanting to be photogenic. At any rate, the virgin drinks were fun!!

News from My Airman
Troy and I have figured out that he is online at work around midnight my time. This is the second night in a row that we have been able to "chat" via sending emails back and forth.
Tonight his email subject was: "If you're still up...I love you." It completely made my night! I miss him so very much. I'm trying very hard to be strong and stalwart in being patient in the knowledge that he is doing something good - he is serving his country. He does it with such selflessness and still has this amazing ability to see the good in all things. His never ending positivity is apparent in this line of his last email:
"There’s a place I can go here that has a lake with reeds of sorts and seagulls by the hundreds. And when you look out on the horizon, it almost feels like you’re at the beach in Destin. And definitely doesn’t feel like Iraq...I love you sweetie. Keep your head up."
Head is up today. Thanks to my sweetheart and his amazing example!

So Many Updates...
I haven't posted in a while, for several reasons. First, I've been SO SO SO busy getting everything situated for Troy and I both to drastically alter our lives for the next six months. And secondly, I've been having to process my emotions before I put anything into words.
So, here is a bulleted update of our lives:
Troy Dad (he is Troy Sr., so my Troy calls him TroyDad. :)) fixed our clogged dishwasher and helped us move all of the furniture out of one room into another to get ready for our new tenants. I was so grateful for all of their help and to have such great In-Laws!
We spent Christmas Day together talking and just spending time together. It even snowed that evening - in Vegas nonetheless - my first white Christmas! Christmas Eve was spent with Troy's cousin Gina, her husband Volkan and their baby Viggo. They are wonderful as well! They gave us Viggo's bassinet and bouncy seat. It's so nice to have family nearby that are so willing to help and love us.

Fun Filled Weekend
Our little snow man. It actually snowed in Vegas! It was so much fun!
Troy and I enjoying the random whiteness!
The morning after our Friday night filled with Christmas parties! Troy's Cousin Gina had a fantastic party that we went to first. There was lots of yummy Italian food, we met alot of really cool people. Plus, got to spend time with Gina, Vulcan and little Viggo. I really love Troy's family! They are so much fun!
Ok...more to follow...I am late for work. :)

New Family Tradition
Troy and I celebrated our one year anniversary last week! I can't believe it's already been a year since the accident, the move, the marriage...oh, how time flies!!
We have been getting settled into our new house in Las Vegas, and I truly have felt SO BLESSED lately! We both have fantastic jobs, we have a great house with lovely things that keep us comfortable, we are more in love today than we were when we first fell in love! I have a great husband who is so talented and such a good provider - both financially and emotionally! We both have recently formed new friendships and improved existing ones. Troy started a band with a guy named Derek whom he has become great friends with! I have formed a great friendship with Joy, my boss's daughter and my co-worker Mi Ann! Nearly a year after moving here, it really feels like this is where we belong.
Troy and I started a new family tradition this weekend. While on vacation, Victor and Amanda (my brother and soon to be sister-in-law) taught us a dice game called Farkle. It is so fun and so addicting! (Comment or call me for the instructions.) Troy and I played last night after dinner while watching conference re-runs on BYUTV. It was a great night! We decided to make it a regular Sunday event!

Okay, so we have been trying to manage three blogs, and it's getting a bit confusing. So, this is how it will work from now on:

Finally Moved In!!!!
There is lots to tell about, since I am slow at blogging. It seems that I blog every day for a week, and then drop off for a month. So, since it has been a month, there will be a few posts of things to update on.
First...we are moved into our new house!!! It is so fantastic!!! There seems to be the perfect amount of space, the perfect layout for everything that we need. When we were out house shopping, this was Troy's favorite. This specific house hadn't been built yet, but he liked the rug in the model, so he was sold (even though the rug wasn't included in the deal.) :) I was torn between this and a couple others, but went with this one for two reasons: it was Troy's favorite, and there were three walk-in closets, one in the guest room (now the music room) and two in the master.
We had a crazy week of moving, got everything unpacked, decorations hung - all in two days!!! We then left for vacation in AL/MS/FL. We did a housing swap with these really cool people in Florida, who stayed in our house for a week, so we were both excited to come back home from vacation to enjoy our new house.
It has been a great week! We are almost COMPLETELY unpacked! :) We have turned one guest room into Troy's music room (with a fold out couch in there for guests), we turned the walk-in closet in that room into an office. The smaller walk-in in the master has been turned into my craft room. I LOVE IT!! I can go in there, turn on my Ipod, close the door, and scrapbook or draw or write or whatever...just enjoy some solitude!
So, that's blog number one of the catching up! More to come...
